Memorial to Francis Crick

University of Cambridge

PlanSurv Limited secured Listed Building Consent for a memorial to DNA pioneer Francis Crick in the Great Gate of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. Detailed negotiations with both English Heritage and Cambridge City Council resulted in consent being granted for a memorial to the world-renowned biophysicist. The memorial was unveiled by Francis Crick’s co-author and Nobel Prize winner Dr James Watson in a ceremony held at the College on 25th April 2013, 60 years to the day since the pair’s ground-breaking work was first published.

“PlanSurv is proud to have been involved in the memorial, which is a striking yet sensitive tribute to Francis Crick and his most famous discovery.”
